Our Story
At ClubMates Travel, we believe that travel is not just a journey, but a story waiting to be written. Our story began as a safari tour company with only three staff. However, over time, the founders saw the limitations that people with disabilities have to travel because of a lack of accessible travel vehicles. In response, they started to charter their bus out for group travel to people with disabilities. In 1988, they turned their focus completely to disability travel and OzMates was born.
In 2006, Peter Negri, our Director, bought and took over the company. Peter had a simple dream in his mind that he wanted to drive a bus and help others experience adventure. As the company grew nationally, Peter started to run fully accessible inclusive holidays by 2010. To accommodate our growing number of customers, Peter purchased a brand new accessible tour coach in 2012.
In 2013, Peter changed the company name to ClubMates and expanded to offer international trips. We are proud to say that we are now the leading disability travel company in Australia with more than 70 staff both in Australia and overseas.

Peter Negri here, your resident adventure junkie and Director of ClubMatesTravel. Travel is back on in full swing and so are we….like never before!
We’ve been busy bees here at the office. We have expanded our team and stepped up our marketing and customer service efforts in order to bring our trips to as many people as we can because everyone needs a holiday…and mobility should never be a barrier.
We couldn’t resist the temptation to showcase our Support Crew’s fashionable red polo shirts in every possible way, and now our website and marketing materials are a red-hot display of our quirkiness and love for adventure!
We have an enormous 64 new group tour itineraries for the year! For those wanderlust seekers, international borders are open so after a rather tranquil year for overseas trips in 2023, we are heading in full throttle. Whether you’re a foodie, a history buff, a nature lover or a thrill-seeker like me, we have something for everyone.
